Vickie Kimbrough, PhD, MBA, RDh | Founder-CEO

Dr. Kimbrough has been working in higher education for more than 25 years in a variety of teaching and administrative roles. She began as an adjunct instructor for the Taft College dental hygiene program and quickly became founding program director for Shasta College, then moved to Truckee Meadows Community College in Reno Nevada as director. In 2011 Dr. Kimbrough became director of dental Hygiene at Southwestern College in the San Diego area. After six years in that role she relocated to Sacramento to work in association management and to develop Purple Pen courses. In 2017 she returned to Taft College as the dental hygiene program director.

She has co-authored two textbooks for dental hygiene, one focused on ethics and jurisprudence and the other on dental health education. Her extensive teaching and administrative experience stems from health and career technical education in the community college system and she has a deep passion for mentoring faculty and students.

Dr. Kimbrough has a degree in biology from CSU Bakersfield, a MBA from the University of Phoenix and a PhD in Educational Leadership from the University of Nevada, Reno. She graduated from Cerritos College Dental Hygiene yet her primary interest is higher education administration, leadership and student success.   

She has held leadership positions with the California Dental Hygienists’ Association, and was the Chair of the Allied Health Program Directors for the American Dental Education Association. In 2011, Dr. Kimbrough was honored with the Irene Newman Award by the American Dental Hygienists Association for her professional achievements.
